WC tickets second phase sold out in seven hours

November 14, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

No matter how controversial it is, soccer world cup has always been a most popular sports event around the world and it is proved once again after a rapid sale of its tickets – within seven hours! It was the second phase of tickets sale and more than 230000 tickets were available in this slot, but surprisingly, they all were gone by within hours FIFA put them in sale through its website. This is when some of the high profile matches were not included in this phase as well, and if we compare this turnaround with that of first phase, it is just unbelievable. In fact, organizing committee is also surprised to see a mega success of the event despite rising doubts over the sever protests that everyone saw during just concluded Confederation cup. Around 890,000 tickets were allotted in the first phase and around 230,000 tickets were in the second phase totaling 1.1 million for the first world cup in Brazil after 1950. Everybody is taking it a mega success for Brazilian government who has been widespread criticizing for not tackling the protest issue since last few months.

It was not the final sale as next lot of tickets will be put on sale on Dec 8 after finalization of who will play with whom. Apart from that, around 8 percent of the tickets are exclusively reserved for the sponsors of first round teams. Overall, there is still a chance if you could not win a space for yourselves until now, but unfortunately, you will have to be an early bird to make it happen! If we look at which region is occupying the maximum number of tickets, it is obviously Brazilian and after that American, Argentines, and Australian along with Englishmen.

FIFA website was the most crowded place over the net early this Monday when tickets were to be placed for sale, in fact, the average loading time for the sale page was around 45 minutes still thousands of fans kept trying keeping their fingers crossed until they got the one. Thierry Weil, the marketing director of football governing body, said in a statement, “The high number of applicants led to some waiting time but overall the system worked well. It was great to see that both internationals and Brazilians were aiming to grab the remaining tickets from the first batch of tickets made available.”
