Every time a team, residing among the top four of any league, wins a game it starts exaggerating its confidence to win the title and this trend is more common to see in English Premier League where top positions are more fluctuating than any other part of the world. Arsenal, who has recently been subjected to lots of criticism for losing its top ranking on the board, is one such side who is now finding all the reasons to recall their title hope back after defeating Bournemouth. Before that game Wenger was not even confident if his side would remain among the top four and after Yesterday’s 2-0 win, a new confidence has emerged hence he looks more focused to win the first league title in almost a decade. The goal scorers of the game were Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who ended Gunners four games draught and took Gunners at third ranking on the board – a good recovery of one position! Anyways, with a latest win, Arsene Wenger can now dream of defeating Leicester City next weekend when Foxes visit Emirates Stadium and fans are eager to see how their newly motivated team manages to upraise their board ranking.
Anyways, what Wenger said talking about the Bournemouth game and if they were highly demoralized after last week loss to the toppers, he said, “It was a must-win game for us today. Leicester have made a big impression in the last week after their results. They suddenly become the favourite in the Premier League and it makes our game a big game.
“We had a strong start, with good finishing and we controlled the game. We beat a good side, it was three difficult points but three very important points for us because we had not won for a while. We lost a bit of our urgency in the second half. We lost the killer instinct to get the third goal and on top of that Bournemouth are physically a strong team.”
“We have been in the title race and we are still in it. We cannot control people’s opinion and we need to show that we believe in it. We have to do it. It is still a long way to go. Leicester City is a favourite and we have a big game at home against them and I hope we have enough quality and nerves to deal with that.”
