Wenger defends their strange bid for Suarez

November 3, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Luis Suarez

There is a saying in soccer that you can win half the battle if you could deter the confidence level of your opponents, and that is why most of the tricky officials start passing comments on their opponents before an important clash. It has just been few months passed by Arsenal put a bid to buy Liverpool highly dissenting forward Luis Suarez at a price which got the entire world’s attention because its carefully calculated amount of £40,000,001 – just one pound more than a forty million threshold which could trigger an important clause in Suarez’s contract. However, they could not succeed in their innovative attempt, but they successfully got the entire media attention and remained in the headlines until 26-year-farward got an extension. Many said that time that it was a clever move by Arsene Wenger just to provoke their arch rivals in the premier league, and now, it’s time to defend those allegations by Arsenal manager. Currently, when both these clubs are residing on the top of English topflight with just a two points difference, Wenger said they never intended to make it a public saga; perhaps it was their intelligent bid considering all the surroundings at that time.

This is actually a dream period for both the sides coz it has been quite some time passed by they never tested the flavor of being on the top. On the occasion, it could also be a Wenger’s bid to distract his opponent coz Liverpool seems to be their only hurdle this season. He said, “It was not the most subtle thing we have done, but it was not meant to be provocative at all. It could be interpreted like that, but it was not our purpose. It was one of the transfers that did not work and in every club you have two or three, but there is no need afterwards to speak about it.

“Suarez is a professional, he plays there, he is paid by Liverpool, and that is it. Relations with (The Reds) are good. We kept in touch over that period. The Gunners boss insists there can be no thoughts of regret over the one who got away when he sends his side out on Saturday looking to avoid what would be a third consecutive home defeat.

“Life is about opportunities that you miss, some that you take. You can only make life with your own qualities. We have a squad that is good enough to beat Liverpool and that is what we want to show and focus on,” Frenchman further added.
